Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern ran a 70-car train up its 45-mile Utica-Lyons Falls, NY branch yesterday. The tankers will be stored in Lyons Falls on the otherwise unused 10-mile stretch of track between Boonville-Lyons Falls.Several hundred more cars will follow in the weeks ahead.

This may well have been the biggest train on the quiet branchline since the line's New York Central days.

This video shows the big train early on the morning of March 6th passing through the picturesque village of Remsen, 21 miles north of Utica.

Beautiful winter scene ! Sure wish that train was bound for Montreal.

Daniel C. Jenne (Chief Engineer of the Black River & Utica) must be up there smiling to see his railroad built in the 1850's looking so good !

And the two leading units are ex BC Rail . . a long way from home!
