Author: Ron Had some errands to run on Saturday afternoon, the weather was cloudy and windy, looking like it was going to start raining at any moment. I saw the CN 2849 sitting on the Main Line across from the CN West Tower here in Battle Creek. There was also the BLE 902 and GTW 5933 there in the yard, so I found a spot to wait for the BLE 902 and GTW 5933 to head west.
And pretty soon I could see a headlight coming, and the CN 2849 West Bound Loaded Windmill Blades left Battle Creek heading for Chicago. CN 2849 CN 5452 West, Saturday, March 9, 2019, at about 4:25 PM. At East Michigan Avenue - MP 177.01 CN South Bend Subdivision, Battle Creek, Michigan. My truck was just about out of gas, and the left rear tire was showing needing air, so I couldn't wait for the BLE 902 to leave, but I think seeing the CN 2849 West was a fair trade off.
