Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS Chicago Line today

Made it tracksice since I have been back at Cedar Point.  Here are the happenings.  

21Z Came through just as I got off the bus with NS 9469 and NS 1150.  Those grab shots are not that great so I will not post them.

Next up was a short 21G with NS 7023 and NS 9150.  

Then there was 20E with NS 4109 and the Jersey Girl trailing.

Next is a zoom shot of NS 38E switching in the other yard.  I dont know what their trailing unit was but the leader was UP ex CNW 6603. 

Then one of two grain trains with NS 9322, 2631 and 9121.

Then this sand train came by with NS 3631, 9191 and fresh SD70ACC 1808. Big shock there. 

NS 27N was next with NS 9561 and 6908.  They were told to ease down to 244 for 38E. Somehow the pics were tilted.

Then this manifest Im guessing was all day 11K with NS 9641 and UP 5248.

NS 294 passed by with NS 7650 and NS 7584

Then this westbound Intermodal im guessing was 23Z with NS 3622, 9904 and NS 3680

Thne another westbound Intermodal with NS 2644 and NS 9729.  9729 was smoking it up pretty badly.

Missed an OFHX Coal train due to weather conditions and Missed 24M due to lunch break. 

What I am guessing is 14N with NS black Door 9245, 9069, 9166, UP 5508 and UP 4747 and a The Rock fallen flag hopper.

Then This manifest 14A with NS 9878, 8095, and 7629

Finally 21Q passing the rear of 14A.  21Q had a pair of throughobreds in 9152 and 9347.

Later on I was advised through a fellow railfan that a car had hit the tail end of 25Z.  I heard the car that hit the tail end was on fire as EMS, a trainmaster and NS police were on their way to the scene.  Everything came to a halt as 21Q looked to be sitting at that time at CD 244.  I have not heard anything else and trains are running again.  

I also want to point out I had made contact with an NS Special Agent (cannot reveal his name as he knew my contact that retired) today about trespassing concerns (no I was not doing any trespassing for the record).  Everything went very well, very positive, and overall I am hoping to work together with NS police on this issue.  The biggest problem is the high school kids here in Sandusky thinking they can use the railroad as a shortcut. I had heard, repeat heard only about a blitz to adress this issue sometime soon, but dont know exactly when that will be.  I know when it happens I will be out there for it.
