Thank you for sharing pictures from an area not often seen.

It seems like G&W power is looking rather worn on several of their properties. There were pictures on the eastern board taken along York Railway in York, PA and that power looked bad as well. Oil down the sides of the long hood is a bad sign.

Nice! Is that the same Logan Stone Train that ends up in Logan, OH? If so, does it use the old B&O Midland line to Columbus and then the Hocking Valley to Logan? Where does the train originate?

I don't recall a few years back their orange locomotives being so dirty, not just on this property but others as well. Is this a sign of how things are today? Are they not taking pride in their equipment anymore?

That is the train which goes to Logan (here it's coming back from Logan).

As I understand things, it picks up stone at Melvin (near Wilmington) and runs through Washington Court House to Columbus, then down the ex C&O through Lancaster to Logan.  I believe it originates in Columbus.

Thanks for the info. Is this a weekly or monthly (or less frequent) move?

I think both trains are fairly regular.  I just happened to be out taking pictures in the area, swung by the diamond and saw the Blanchester Job heading towards Sabina.

There are two FB pages where you can get a better idea: Central Ohio Railfan; and Indiana and Ohio Railway.

Letting an engine get all filthy like that is sign that they are either on the verge of selling/scrapping or waiting for something to fail so bad as to remove from service whereupon a rebuild can commence. Generally even if rebuild is on the menu they will get every dime of use out of it before commencing.
