Whenever I go to Cobden I think of December 1973, when a northbound and southbound ICG had a nasty head-on collision here at this exact spot. One of the trains involved had a string of loaded coal hoppers. In fact if you look at the ground hard enough you can still find pieces of coal embedded in the ground.
