Eastern Railroad Discussion > West Georgia.. TO Member & A New KCS VisitorsDate: 04/16/19 05:26 West Georgia.. TO Member & A New KCS Visitors Author: NSSpike Earlier this month I had the pleasure of meeting up with TO member SRMAN and we spent a full day and part of another working two Norfolk Southern mains, North Atlanta and the East End. The first two are from that outing and the others are from just the past week. Also good when one can meet up with a fellow railfan.
#1. Working its way up the #2 main south bound at the MP108 on Braswell Mountain NS W61 (CHATTANOOGA, TN - MACON, GA) extra 361 seen here with the NS # 3642 in the lead. #2. NS 282 (JACKSONVILLE, FLA - CHICAGO, IL (LANDERS) north bound on the NS Georgia Division North Atlanta District at Rockmart Georgia. #3. As the early morning fog thins out NS 173 (LINWOOD, NC – BIRMINGHAM, ALA) heads west bound through Temple Georgia on the NS Alabama East End District. ...more to follow.... Phil Maton Villa Rica, GA Date: 04/16/19 05:28 Re: West Georgia.. TO Member & A New KCS Visitors Author: NSSpike #4. Following the 173 west bound is NS 187 ( MACON, GA – BIRMINGHAM, ALA) out of CP Taylor MP675.5
#5. Running on the NS Georgia “C-Line” through west Bremen is Cedartown / Carrollton turn NS G01. As a rule the power for NS 371 (CHATTANOOGA,TN – CEDARTOWN, GA) becomes G01 each morning around 9am. #6. East bound on the mainline between CP Bremen & CP Sewell UP interchange manifest NS M72 (NEW ORLEANS, LA (UP QLINSL) - LINWOOD, NC) rolls past two trailing DPU's on NS 733 (GP JULIETTE, GEORGIA - PRB WYOMING) that holds the siding. ...more to follow... Phil Maton Villa Rica, GA Date: 04/16/19 05:30 Re: West Georgia.. TO Member & A New KCS Visitors Author: NSSpike #7. Sporting a new GE ET44AC – T4 KCS #5005 leads NS 220 (DALLAS, TX (KCS IDAAT)- ATLANTA, GA) into the Villa Rica / Baggett siding yesterday morning. It was like old times seeing KCS power leading this one as for what seams like a year or more this stack and NS 24E (DALLAS, TX (KCS IDAAT2) - ATLANTA, GA) have been covered up with NS power.
#8 & #9. KCS #5005 clears the top of the ridge in downtown Douglasville, Georgia east bound to the NS Inman Atlanta Terminal. Thanks for stopping by and always be safe when out track side!!! TO Member & A New KCS Visitors Author: Forever-Railfan-45 Nice color there Phil. Glad to see the BNSF SD70MACS still roaming the rails. The yellow light (sun) is something I am still waiting to see with some regularity up here in Ohio.

Actually in photo #5 just to the right is a mail box. It is a driveway to a residence. Close quarters for sure!! Phil Maton Villa Rica, GA Date: 04/18/19 14:47 Re: West Georgia..
