The second link has some interesting drone photos, almost looks like a model at first with the clean cars really standing out. The WN photo is from that link.

My sources tell me the 1020 was leading.
I can only assume it made it through the area and remained upright.
Local news reports there were no injuries.

Remember there was 2 to 4 loved ones , friends and coworkers on that unit. As a railroader people asking right off the bat what the engine numbers were doesn't bode well. It's a machine it will be replaced or rebuilt. You can't demolish a human and put them back together again like you can a Locomotive

I completely agree. And my first thought and statement was the hope the crew was ok

We are all concerned about the crew members...
Some are also concerned about the unit numbers (and NS likely among them).
NS is likely most concerned about how long it will be until the line is open and usable again (now that they don't have the Harriman Awards to boast about)

I read you post, Have you experienced loosing a family member due to a disaster like this? I hope not, because if you have you will know where I'm coming from. You foamers need to remember this, it's not easy every time there is a derailment somewhere to remind you of this. Units are machines, not humans. So no, I will never get off of my horse.....

I’ve never lost a family member to a disaster but as a firefighter/medic I have been deployed to many of them and not just railroads. Where were you on 9/11? I know where I was. And if you want to use the term foamer go ahead you must be one to since your on this board
