NS Steel Slab Unit Train and Other Questions
Author: PRR_4859

Good Morning:

I read on another site that slab steel train 61N (to Paulsboro, NJ) is now carrying merchandise traffic. It looks like much of that traffic may be destined to Enola, PA. Is this true? If so, does this train go into Enola, drop its merchandise traffic, then head to Paulsboro?

Also, does train 16G (not a unit train) still run from Elkhart, IN to Allentown, PA, or has that changed?

Thank you in advance.

The 61N's manifest traffic goes to Pavonia (or Abrams to be put on 38G).

16G has been from BRC to Conway for at least 3 years.

It certainly had a manifest block on the front of it this morning when it went through Cresson.

61N picks up general freight at Conway yard and forwards it east

38 and 39G have been replaced with a turn each from Pavonia/Abrams, Allentown/Abrams. I believe they run under local "H" symbols. The slabs do have freight blocks but not always.

Both 38G and 39G ran today and they’re both planned for tomorrow.  Maybe they pushed back the symbol changes?

Did they eliminate the overnight dwell in Abrams of traffic that didn't make the 14G-38G block swap?
