Were any trains detoured over the former Wabash?
Author: twropr

While NS' Chicago Line was closed account of the 25Z derailment on June 6, did any trains detour between CP 358 (Butler,IN) and Toledo via the ex-WAB Montpelier District and the ex-NYC Detroit Line?  On 11/23/11 Amtrak's eastbound LAKE SHORE and CAPITOL LIMITED used this route to get around an NS derailment at Wauseon, OH (CP 320) on the Chicago Line.  I know Amtrak did not use the line time, but how 'bout the freights?

A 24N ran this routing on Friday. That's the only one I know of.

An NS 101 rack train ran westbound on t he Wabash a couple of days ago. I suspect this was a reroute.
