Macungie, PA is well known for the railfan friendly trackside garden and park.  It is also the home of the Mack truck factory just outside of town.  The factory was open to visitors for tours today.  In addition, a wonderful collection of Mack trucks was on display outside the factory including the space shuttle truck and various patriotic themed trucks.
1. eastbound intermodal train at nearby Alburtis, PA
2. intermodal train 212 at Hilltop Rd.
3. trash train 63V at Macungie.

They're all terrific but the Space Shuttle truck speaks to me.

I don't know if Mack still uses the adjacent lot for a tractor holding pen, but there was always a flow of new equipment in and out.

There are hundreds of new trucks staged around the plant itself.  In addition, Mack has a lot of trucks staged on the property of the old demolished pipe factory across the tracks from the Macungie railfan park.

Great shots Dick!

As for the trucks, all are awaiting some form of finishing work prior to delivery. A neighbor of mine works there and last week told me there are over 900 trucks that are in need of some part sitting in Macungie. He says most of the required parts are stuck waiting to get into the US from Canada or Mexico.
