Hot days in D&H Land
Author: train1275

It's been hot in the 90's with high humidity here in Upstate New York this weekend.

Earlier today, July 7, 2019, Train 205 passes the D&H passenger depot on the right opened in 1904 and the ancient stone freight house dating back to 1866. NS 4179 and 9378 were the power.

Later on comes the ever faithful 16R up through Otego passing the old depot (hidden in brush) opened for service on the Albany & Susquehanna RR on January 23, 1866. Power on 16R is NS 9481, 7627 and 4180. The humidity and haze are now settling in as the thermometer climbs.

16R then rounds the bend at Pony Farm approaching the west end of Oneonta yard.

And now comes Train 30T the Canadian connection with NS 8029 and 2635 taken from the I-88 connector bridge on the south or west end of Otego.

Nice shots, thanks for sharing. Does the CN run-though train ever still use CN units?

CN only operates the NS 30T & 31T trains between the CN-CP connection at Rouses Pt and Montreal so these days there is little power sharing. CN power does visit Binghamton perhaps a few times each month powering frac sand trains that originate on CN in Wisconsin (I believe).

Hope you enjoyed a burger and a beer in the old station in between trains.
