Honoring First Responders Double Whammy
Author: PennRailVideos

On Sunday July 7th, I was on going to make my way home to Jersey from NEPA. However with reports of the NS 9-1-1 "Honoring First Responders" unit was on the local job K81 out of Taylor, PA, I managed to get a shot of the locomotive in Avoca, PA while sitting on the main.

As I was about to leave, I got a notification in one of the many 'Major heads up' groups I'm in on Facebook that the NS TRAINING First Responders trainset was going to head west from Croxton, NJ to Reading, PA via Bethlehem. So I turned south on the Penna Turnpike and headed for the Lehigh Valley. I managed to catch the train running under the 974 symbol behind the firehouse in Steel City, PA, which was a little more overgrown than I would have liked but I managed to get some elevation.

Anyway, not a bad way to wrap up the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Saw that on Horseshoe Curve webcam a few weeks ago, really neat.  Thanks for posting.
