I really thought I would be jumping up and down and whistling thru my ass to see one of these things in SOMETHING besides U.P paint. The truth of the matter is, It's been so damn long now, It's really NOT that big a deal anymore. It's also kind of hard to get that excited about a new locomotive model that may or may NOT be a POS! This may shock many people but I actually think they would have looked better in NS paint than CSX.

"ST70AH" is what CSX has applied to the desiginator on the side of the cabs.

Do those have the older cast EMD trucks instead of the new built-up ones like the other EMD T4s have?

T for tier 4 and H for ballasted extra heavy....if it runs good it ought to pull well....ballast puts mucho extra weight on drivers and that's where traction comes from.

My math might be a bit fuzzy, but does anyone know what happened to the 10th ugly duckling? Seems like they only delivered 9

Tenth may be on way to TTCI for testing or may have had issues before leaving the plant...

That reminds me of the late seventies when some domesticly made cars would roll out the factory door already broken down. Weird thing was the one right behind it might run flawlessly for 300000 miles....those were strange days.
