Ridiculous re-instatemnet of lawsuit against Metro North.  The claim MNCR is neglegent for operating a train at high speed ona track adjacent to a platform when they have another track available.  Odd they didnt go oafter the possibility there was ice on the platform.  People trying to make a bunch of bucks I guess.

If metro's own operating rules say that through trains run on inner tracks. Then they violated thier own rule.  Unless there is specific  operating rules for that station.  Like no cross overs between the two stations requiring a rule change for that segment.  

Why don't we get the courts to dispatch railroads?  Fast trains would not be a problem.

I completely reject the notion that the speed the train was moving made any meaningful difference in the accident.  The man could have just as easily fallen in front of HIS train coasting into a station stop and be just as dead.  To me, the more pertinent question is what does Metro North do to try to mitigate ice on their station platforms?

The article doesn't state it is a rule, only normal operating procedure according to a "railroad safety expert". That expert could be just about anyone and they are basing their opinion on the basis that many express trains run on middle tracks, though in reality for operating convince rather than a desire for a safer experience at stations.

Expect a train at any time on any track.  And don't forget to stand behind the yellow line.  There.  I'm an expert, LOL!

True, it would take years for the cargo to be delivered!
