Rebuilt MBTX 1068 returning to Boston

While waiting for UP Big Boy 4014 to depart Cheyenne, WY on July 8, an eastbound manifest labored up Archer Hill near Archer, WY with this colorful F40PH-2C MBTX 1068 (built by EMD in 2-88) last in a locomotive consist , freshly rebuilt and repainted by Motive Power Industries in Boise, ID, and making its way back to Boston to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority for further commuter service. === === = === JLH

Sharp looking engine! Pulling into UP Global 3 yard at Rochelle, IL at 820 am on Friday, July 12. Trailing unit behind 3 UP and 1 CP locomotives. Will be interchanged with CSX at Barr Yard in Chicago.
