Eastern Railroad Discussion > Interesting 'stuff' at Chillicothe, OHDate: 07/10/19 12:56 Interesting 'stuff' at Chillicothe, OH Author: santafe199 The fun part of a railfan excursion through unknown territory is exactly the way Forrest Gump so eloquently states it: “You never know what you’ll get”. How true. While passing through Ohio I found me some neat “stuff” in Chillicothe between Sugar & Redd Sts near the 7th St underpass:
1. NS 901654, a specialty flat loaded down with pre-fabricated switch components is coupled to… 2. & 3. …N&W 514888. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/10/19 12:58 by santafe199. Date: 07/10/19 12:57 Re: Interesting 'stuff' at Chillicothe, OH Author: santafe199 Just one more:
4. While I was there NS 7102 toodled on by with a partially loaded (partially unloaded?) center beam flat. (4 photos taken May 8, 2019 in Chillicothe, OH) Thanks for looking! The wood on that car looks like untreated railroad ties, and in that case the car may have weighed out before it cubed out. I got the impression the paint was fairly fresh. Maybe NS has retained the N&W reporting marks? Lance/199 Date: 07/11/19 13:40 Re: Interesting 'stuff' at Chillicothe, OH Author: tq-07fan This may have been rebuilt by the nearby shops in Portsmouth. I have seen them with the N & W hamburger.
