Heard that the NS Safety Train was on Train 205 today and was able to get near the tracks to see if it was possible to catch.

First came the 16R shooting over the Route 79 Overpass just south of Ninevah Junction north of Binghamton. He was to meet the 205 at Afton a few miles up the road.

So moving on to a better location at the Harpursville High Bridge. Temps are in the low 90's with high humidity and a couple of lads are cooling off in the stream, seemingly oblivious to the action above.

Power on 16R ws NS 9141 leading and power on the 205 was 9378, 4179 and the Safety NS 5642. The 5642 started life with Penn Central as PC 7868 in drab black.

As the train rolls by finally the lads become aware and start waving.
Soon the train will enter the Belden Hill tunnel and descend into Binghamton.
