Eastern Railroad Discussion > It Never Showed UpDate: 08/04/19 18:17 It Never Showed Up Author: overniteman After catching the NS "Lehigh Valley" unit on NS 20E yesterday, the hope was that it would roll on anything heading West today.
Up early and H/U shows it still sitting in Croxton. Need sugar, so Dunkin Donuts for a couple of glazed and a Coke. I leave a nice tip in the cup for luck. Sun's out, not too hot. Off to the tracks we go. On any given day, NS is an Eastbound railroad in New Jersey in the morning, so we have to get through a few. First is NS 212 with GEVO 8183 holding down the point. This 212 was a little different with no autoracks up front. Manville, New Jersey. Date: 08/04/19 18:25 Re: It Never Showed Up Author: overniteman Bad part of today was that I needed to be home by noon, so if Heritage magic was going to happen, it had to be soon.
Next is NS 22V with a pair of AC44C6M's (4190 & 4262) disturbing the Sunday suburban quiet. NS's locomotive fleet is quietly getting younger by the minute with all these rebuilds. Still no LV unit.......... Date: 08/04/19 18:35 Re: It Never Showed Up Author: overniteman Next NS 24Z calls out it's approach on the scanner.
And it's coming down what used to be the "Royce Runner". This track is usually used for meets so there's hope of a Westbound Power is a three pack of unrebuilt D9's and they're crawling by. We're good for a Westbound................. Time is 11:16 AM and I dutifully waited until the last minute but today the magic didn't happen. As of 9:30 tonite, H/U shows the LV unit still sitiing in Croxton. Tomorrow maybe? Date: 08/05/19 10:42 Re: It Never Showed Up Author: Thoroughbred-Ed Very Nice Pictures !
