Eastern Railroad Discussion > CSX SunriseDate: 08/10/19 18:08 CSX Sunrise Author: overniteman The sun is barely up as CSX Q438 pops out of the Fort Montgomery tunnel. GEVO 747 is flying solo.
Fort Montgomery, New York. Date: 08/10/19 18:13 Re: CSX Sunrise Author: overniteman A few minutes later, DPU GEVO 3090 is tucked in mid-train and whines by.
I'm not much of a car counter, but CSX's trains are huge these days. Fort Montgomery, New York. These 3000 series units are popular as DPU's in the NY / NJ area.

Single units on long freights aren't anything new (CSX used to run EB coal trains with one SD50 alone on the point in 1980s) but what is new is the DPUs... And a train isn't a "one unit wonder" or the leader "flying solo" (even if a 747) if there's a DPU in the train. |
