Hello to All,

I am going to be nearby soon and am curious about train activity in the area. Does CP come across and interchange with CSX? Any "must see/do items"  there? Museums, display rolling stock, "Gotta eat here" info appreciated!

AFAIK, the only operating freight RR in Niagara Falls, NY is CSX - I think CN and NS have haulage rights to/from NF, NY via Buffalo. And there is no freight traffic crossing the Niagara River at Niagara Falls - the only trains to cross the Whirlpool Bridge are Amtrak/Via's two daily Maple Leaf trains. CP and CN interchange with CSX and NS take place at Buffalo via CN's International Railway bridge at Ft Erie (CP stopped using theMichigan Central bridge at NF in 2001).

FYI...The Whirlpool Bridge over the Niagara River between Niagara Falls, NY and Niagara Falls, Ont. will be closed for the planned reconstruction of the top rail deck from September 9 though November 1.

Amtrak's Maple Leaf (#63 & #64) will be originating & terminated at Niagara Falls, NY during this period. There will be a dedicated bus for ticketed passengers between Niagara Falls, NY and Toronto ONLY. The bus will not serve Niagara Falls, Ont., St. Catherines, Grimsby, Aldershot or Oakville, Ont, as the train normally does.
