Cumberland Mine Railroad
Author: Ohiorailfan

Made a visit to the Cumberland Mine Railroad near Kirby, PA yesterday. We went near the dock and saw the empty train roll in. We talked to a very friendly employee who told us it would be a few hours before they headed to the loadout. The train was powered by 2 SD38-2's one on each end. This railroad is landlocked and runs about 18 miles and has 2 SD38-2's and an SD40-2

We were there August 17 & 19. Missed you by a day. I hear the locomotives were painted during the miners vacation. Nice to see the new paint.
