We Hardly Knew You

CSX EMD SD70ACe 4840 leads a Southbound intermodal along the busy single track River Sub.

CSX was the first one to purchase these big EMD's with their order for 20 units.
While other major roads have been buying and using these '70ACe's (NS Heritage fleet as an example), they never "gained traction" on the CSX.

Shame CSX didn't keep them, and now the flared MACs seem to be on their way out...

(Disclaimer: I'm just a foamer and wasn't subjected to the unpleasant experience of riding in their cabs; I'm told by rails they were terrible)...
