Author: mp208 Amtrak 156 (NS 14) passing the restored station at Montpelier, VA. (9/14/19) President James Madison's estate is nearby. He was our 4th President and founding father of our Constitution.

Author: VaCentralRy To be technical, since the station was built in 1910, it was a bit before the Madison's time. William du Pont built it during his ownership of the estate. If you're wealthy, you might as well have a private station to avoid the hoi polloi.

Montpelier, VA is on US 33 northwest of Richmond. Montpelier Station is south of Orange, VA on the former Southern main line, between Culpepper and Charlottesville (I think I have that right). 156 is where it belongs. Edited 1 time(s).
