Has NS worked out detour arrangements to resume service to KC?
Author: JPB

As of this moment, the last Service Alert statement from NS as of 10/2/19 is that KC service suspended:"Train service between Moberly and Kansas City, MO remains suspended following yesterday’s reported bridge incident in Brunswick, MO. The Norfolk Southern Engineering Department is actively working to restore train service to the Grand River Bridge; however, efforts have been slowed due to the rising of the Grand River. At this time there is no viable route to Kansas City on the Norfolk Southern network. Efforts continue in pursuing detour options with our interline-partners; however, until service is restored to the Grand River Bridge, all shipments moving to and from Kansas City will incur significant delay.Effective 2:00pm CST today, the ingate at Kansas City will close to all shipments. Additionally, effective 2:00pm local today, all origin-facility ingates will close to all shipments billed to Kansas City. The closures will remain in place until service is restored to Kansas City...."

I'm guessing whatever interline detour arrangements are made will exist for several weeks?

Three to four weeks estimated for the bridge. Re-routes arranged and KC is back open for both originating and terminating:
