A small industrial switcher derailed yesterday while working a siding next to a NS mainline in Harrison, PA. , along the Allegheny River.
The switcher belongs to ATI, which has 2 plants in the area. NS traffic was not affected, although its workers were also on the scene.
Their is a short video on trib-live.com that shows the engine a little better.
In other Pittsburgh-area RR-related mayhem, a somewhat ugly painted pickup was speared by a NS local in Cheswick, PA. also on Monday, The driver had minor injuries.

Believe the derail that would prevent them from fouling the main did its job. Notice the orange handle on the switch stand just behind the pilot.

Yup....derail performed as intended!

That truck might be ugly, but it ain't cheap!

Probably a lot cheaper today .......

The truck was speared and the driver was spared!  quote "the driver had minor injuries"
