WATCO Aquires Eastern Illinois Railroad (EIRC)
Author: mtzctrain

WATCO's Decatur & Eastern Illinois RR (DREI) is officially taking over the Eastern Illinois Railroad, which runs from Metcalf IL to Neoga IL. This line primarily serves a couple grain elevators, with a connection to the CN at Neoga and to the DREI at Metcalf.

Rumor from a DREI engineer is that they will begin operations on December 1st.

That's my guess too. I think I heard that there's only 2 of them left in operating condition.
