The sun comes out at the right moment at Durand, MI

Durand was slow yesterday, but there was a bit of excitement in the form the sun coming from behind thick clouds at the right moment to really illuminate the train of windmill blades.

Nice catch!   How many trains are running thru Durand usually now?   I have only been there a few times.

Thanks! The luck of the moment made the shots.

These days I usually get to Durand around 12:30
to 1 PM, and hang around until 4 or 4:30 PM. I
can expect to see one or two east and west bound
CN trains, a CN train that comes up the Holly
in the late afternoon, and the 514 intermodal that
runs between Flint and Moterm (Did I get that
right, Ron?) between 1 an 4 or 5 PM.

Great Lakes Central runs Monday through Friday, but
you cannot set your watch by them: it could be
morning, evening, or night that they run between
Owosso and Osmer, just north of Ann Arbor. Huron
and Eastern is likely to get to Durand M-F between
1 PM and 4 or 5 PM.

Here's the GLC from yesterday. It will head out
onto Main 1 so that it can clear the points to
reverse into the yard.

Mondays are a bad day at Durand, because the Depot
is closed, meaning the restrooms are unavailable :-(

John.

Your pictures clearly show the vortex generators on the blades.
