WMSR #7 Leaving town.... on a lowboy - 16 November 2019

Western Maryland Scenic Railroad #7 was spotted in Cumberland, MD loaded on a lowboy ready for shipment to it's new owner.

The #7 a 60 ton Plymouth CR4 switcher was traded / sold by the WMSR along with a couple of Ballast Hoppers for some track equipment.

Not 100% sure who the new owner is.

Thanks Tim for the information.  I guess some folks will be upset about this sale.  But in my opinion the Western Maryland Scenic needs to concentrate on getting that steam engine 1309 in service no matter what.  If they have excess equipment, and from what I have read and seen here on TrainOrders, they have.  So sell off what they do not need and get that engine operating.

That is the same model Plymouth as the old HO scale switcher manufactured by Tyco!

I'd assume that No. 7 was never really a Western Maryland loco?

Hope it stays in the WM livery - will it, anyone know?
Curiuos it's history as well.

Did the WMSR ever even use No. 7?  I have seen it
sitting in the yard - never in motion.  Perhaps if it did
run, it was simply for pusing No. 734 and staging
rolling stock in the yard, behind closed gates?
