Running past the snow piles in Palmer, Q012 heads to Worcester with a long drag of stacks. #2 - Conductors delight......NOT! The NECR yard at Palmer was plugged, with both railcars and snow. #3 - Q022 was next through on the main. more... #1 - CSX called in the big guns - the Snow Jet - to clear snow and ice from switches. #2 - In just a few minutes, the Snow Jet has melted and blown away all the ice and snow and debris and even some ballast from around the switch. #3 - This is a long telephoto shot from down in the yard and shows why you never want to get close to the business end of the Snow Jet - the amount of debris it moves is very impressive!
