Eastern Railroad Discussion > Something we don't see everydayDate: 01/04/20 22:57 Something we don't see everyday Author: Cumberland We all have our own opinions on the application of graffiti on railroad company property. Some of us think it is down right vandalism, while others think of it as a form of art. Whatever yours is, I don't care.
However, one thing I do know for a fact is that it is very rare that we encounter it 'in the act'! Last October, I attended the rare excursion, between Northumberland and Beach Haven, PA, on the North Shore Railroad. I was recently going through my photos, and came across one that I discovered one that very much illustrated somebody applying paint to a bridge abutment. When I originally took the photo I thought that the man was just trespassing but, no, he was doing something more than that! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/05/20 08:29 by Cumberland. One day I was driving to a signal location and this "artist" had a duffle bag full of paint cans. As I got close, he walked up the embakment of the bridge he was working on leaving the bag. Well, short of yelling Bonzai, I lined up on the bag and drove over it, backed over it and then drove over it again. There wasn't a round can left in the bag. He wandered off more than likely scheming his next paint heist.

Probably weren't bought and paid for anyway. And regardless, you feel he should have left it there for the miscreant to come back and finish his vandalism? I suppose he could have picked it up and turned it in to the police, but in your eyes that would be theft, right? No wonder the country is so screwed up. |
