1.  CSX Q135 climbs west up the east slope of Sand Patch grade while passing the historic Mance Post Office at 3:15 pm on January 9.
2.  Eastbound CSX Q136 meets its westbound twin just uphill from the post office.
3.  Mid-train dpu's help the 11,000-foot Q135 towards the summit.

Earlier that afternoon, a 230-car empty coal drag came west led by four units.  Fewer but longer and dpu-assisted trains are now the rule over Sand Patch.
