Very glad he is going to be okay but a policeman (of all people outside the RR industry) should know better.

That was one county over from where I am at. I had seen the headlines, but did not have a subscription to see the local news on the internet. I had assumed that he just got brushed.

Remarkable video from the body cam.  That guy is lucky to be alive.

When the horn blows, maybe it is blowing for you.

Trains are sneaky when the wind is blowing in your face!

Regardless how focus you are towards your mission as a police officer, its amazing how quiet full-up freight trains have become.

Agreed!  I wish they'd lose the mufflers and just let them roar again--you can hear them blocks away, or at least I could as a kid listening to SD-45's and U-33-C's at full throttle.  Nowadays, everything is "whisper quiet."   It's too quiet!!

You can dinstinctly hear the hum of a strong set as the first few cars go by.  You're not going to be hearing the strong squeal until the train gets much slower.  I am sure this crew did all they could seeing a law enforcement brother fouling the gauge.  Just because you didn't hear the air dump doesn't mean they didn't do anything.

I am sure this crew did all they could seeing ANYBODY fouling the gauge; far enough away and anybody looks like anybody else.

But there is only so much that can be done.

Yep, the distinctive whine of AC44s if my ears don't fool me...
