Upon doing some Google maps viewing of the area, there is a wye known as Yadkin Junction. What trains would I expect to see heading west and coming east off of this line if any?

Also, what RR freq would I need for this area

Yadkin Junction is the wye in Salisbury.  123 (East Decatur, IL - Linwood, NC), 135 (Linwood, NC - Knoxville Sevier, TN), and P61 (Linwood, NC - Statesville, NC turn) are the daily trains that use the "S-Line" towards Asheville.  

Also, close to Mooresville is Barber.  Locals P23, P25, and P62 are based out of there.

Yadkin Junction is not the wye where the S Line splits from the mainline in Salisbury.  It is actually located about a mile to the south where the N Line splits off to the southeast toward Albemarle.  The N Line is used Monday through Friday by the P92 local.

Radio frequencies are as follows:
Mooresville/Barber/Statesville areas - AAR 048 and AAR 020
Linwood South - AAR 056 and AAR 080
Linwood North - AAR 053 and AAR 027

Thanks for the correction.  And speaking of the "S Line" and "N Line", where do they get those names?  I'm figuring it's derived from the mileposts letters?

Yes, the name is from the letter that is the milepost prefix.  Some lines have a letter suffix instead of a prefix like the line from Bristol, VA west toward Bulls Gap, TN which has an A after the milepost numbers.  I'm not sure where the letter designations originated, but I believe they have existed since the Southern RR days. 

The S line runs from Morristown on the A line, near Knoxville, through Asheville to Salisbury on the main line (no prefix).  I always thought the S stood for Salisbury.  The letter designations definitely go back to Southern Railway days.

The A line goes from Bristol through Knoxville to Chattanooga and I believe to Memphis.  It was probably only second to the main line in length or importance, not counting the CNO&TP which was "separate."
