Fastest Intermodal Schedules East of Mississippi?
Author: PRR_4859

Good Evening:

What are currently the fastest intermodal schedules (and train symbols) between North Jersey and Chicago on CSXT and NS? I am curious if schedules have changed with PSR changes.

Also, how many intermodal trains (and symbols) run through Chicago to the western roads?

Thank you in advance.

Per NS webpage 21m Croxton NJ Chicago 63rd 0550m 1200tu. ~ 30.5 that’s cutoff to available so actual transit time is shorter. 20e eastbound counterpart is 1hr longer accounting for time change.

Most Norfolk Southern intermodal trains from Northern New Jersey (
New York City area) to Chicago, run via Harrisburg , Pittsburgh and Cleavland.

Agreed, 21M and 20E run through eastern PA on the Moses principal where all other traffic is parted for the two hotshots to roll right through.
