As usual, thanks for sharing. I have never taken a photo from that location. Is it possible to set up a tripod on that side of the tracks? There appears to be steep slope on the south side of the tracks at that location. Also, I'm guessing that spot is only good for trains on track 2 (unless you want to get very close to trains on Track 1). If my count is correct, 39G had 51 loaded slabs head out, then 88 general freight. Based on your "daylight" video of 39G, it sounds like there were no PTC or DPU issues. My home is over in the Meadows off of Pawlings Road, but I'm only home on weekends - I travel to Minneapolis Monday - Friday for work on a Light Rail Project. That being said, I listen to the railroad radio when I'm home and it seems that 39G gets delayed a lot due to PTC or DPU issues. Also, thanks for your train movement summary for the HBG line in our area. I need to print that to get myself current. But, as we all know, those times are "subject to change". A few weeks ago, a got home on a Friday night around 11pm and while attempting to assume slumber in bed, I was privy to listen to 5 trains pass our location between 11:15pm and 12:30am. I'm guessing there was at least one "extra" train in that count. Lets just say that my loss of sleep was not a bad thing that night. Steve |
