Eastern Railroad Discussion > Yadkin Valley on the L&C

Finally back from a little jaunt south, here is one of the photos I nabbed at Richburg, SC on the way down to Florida. The Lancaster and Chester, now a G&O property, was using Yadkin Valley (also a G&O road) SD40-2 7092 on it's job out of Chester. L&C C40-8 slug 9148 and SD40T-2 6002 round out the power. Train is shown pulling into the siding at Richburg, SC February 10th, 2020.

I like that shot.  Nice consist, too!

What's the history on that 7092?   Is that ex BN/CEFX 7092 with the dynamic brakes removed?

Can't say for sure but that's a pretty good bet.

I also see from searching the internet that they have an non-dynamic braked SD40T-2 snoot tunnel motor!   That is really an odd ball...

With the 7092, they have four ex-Yadkin Valley motors on the current roster -- the tunnel motor #6002 nd two exCN GP40-2LWs. All are black save for the tunnel motor. Nice shot, Roger.
