Eastern Railroad Discussion > "Decidedly Gray"Date: 02/25/20 15:35 "Decidedly Gray" Author: aussiehinz A rail train behind Northwest Indiana Commuter Transit District's #1000 & 1001, old school CSX leading westbound intermodal train Q163 through the wet snow, and Amtrak Phase 4 Heritage P42 #184 in charge of the "Southwest Chief," were among the notables of today's Chicagoland jaunt. Note the very recent addition of a pantograph, behind the cab and on the roof of NICTD #1000. It almost appears to be a "dual mode" locomotive, but the pantograph is probably for catenary testing and the like. .Photos taken on a gray and windy 2-25-20 at Burns Harbor (Wilson) IN, East Chicago IN and in front of "MH" Tower, here in Chicago.

Nickatnight Date: 02/25/20 21:04 Re: "Decidedly Gray" Author: krm152 Super like first photo. NICD #1000 looks awesome in "South Shore" scheme compared to the gray it wore for so many years. NICD #1001 is definitely a nice addition. Thanks for the posting. ALLEN
