Delaware-Lackawanna Pocono Line job 2/8
Author: sscannella

Saturday, February 8 found me back in the Scranton, PA area, and that of course meant some time with the Delaware-Lackawanna.  The former DL&W / EL Pocono Main is seeing service 5-6 times a week out of Scranton by the PO74/PO75 turn.  This day they departed Scranton with 14 loads of grain for the mill at Mt. Pocono and 4 loads of lumber for Cresco, and picked up another 10 grain loads off of the siding at Winton, seen here at Myrtle St in Scranton then coming through ELmhurst.

Another view at Elmhurst and one at Moscow, and a video of them coming through Elmhurst.

Got a heads up when the westbound return - PO75 - was getting close to Scranton, so I headed to Myrtle St. again to catch the empties on their way back home.

I do wish that 765, 611, or another big steamer could run this trackage in the near future; the 3 days riding and chasing 765 over Labor Day weekend in 2015 was probably the best time I've ever had.

Keep wishing. The B&M engine will be all you will see.

Great videos of the Alcos.  50+ years old and running strong.

Those ALCO's make a fantastic racket of sound when working hard--love it!

In that first video, what is the grade percentage there??  Is that siding in the distance ever used??
