CSX RF&P Sub
Author: rustyr0824

Hello all.
Was wondering if there was any interest to discuss anything and everything about CSX's RF&P Sub.
Talk about what will come in the next 10 to 20 years with Virginia and CSX and the SouthEast rail initiative.
Talk about VRE planning on station expansions.
Or just plain railfanning.

Thanks
Rusty

Not much to say until the earth movers show up and we know that it's happening.....all we know now it that the wheels of progress are only just starting to turn.

Yeah whatever happened to "shovel ready" projects.
I'm hoping that VRE Quantco starts getting upgraded in 2020.
I know a lot of track north of Widewater/Arkendale is in place but I don't know it's status when it comes to Quantico.
I need to get over there and check things out.

Well additional land has to be acquired and that will be a small nightmare....and then at some point the Norlina sub has to be rebuilt....this is a looooong term project. Assuming passenger rail actually survives the current goings on. Shovel ready? A phrase campaigns....there really is no such beast!

Safe to say that improvements to the RF&P Sub will have been completed for years before anyone gets around to Petersburg-Norlina-Raleigh.

Yeah I'm not familar with the Norlia sub. I was mainly thinking RF&P from Richmond to DC.
I guess I will have to wait another 10 to 20 years before I see improvement.
What is odd though is that you have VRE planning upgrades, you have the VA Gov announcing a big plan with CSX.
And you have the SouthEast Rail project.
