Ex-CR EMD Leader Along the Hudson
Author: RiverLineProductions

CSX Q434 heads north in Milton, NY, at QR-68 on the CSX River Subdivision. Always nice to see an ex-CR SD40-2 leading a road train!

I love the scrollwork on the station gable end.  Not sure if everybody can read it a this resolution, but it says "Freight" and underneath it NYWS&B, Both in fancy, fancy script.

That was a standard feature of West Shore stations.  Not very many examples are still around, and still readable.

The one in Saugerties, N.Y., now used by a business, has those "cut-outs" as well, but I don't know their present condition.

When I last saw the Saugerties freight station during October 2017, a few of the more-complicated cutouts in the wood had a piece missing. The station scrollwork in photo #1 appears fully intact, or at least restored to a similar state.

I last saw the station in Milton about 10 years ago, and it has clearly been restored since then.
