How many CSX pride engines are there and how many were planned?

Just like with how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop, "the world may never know."

Three that we all have seen and there were three more planned ....... one allegedly was to be an SD70 rebuild.

Do we know what the rumored other spirt or heritage units were suppose to be?

You know, regardless of why the pride units are stored, it seems CSX is missing out on doing a good thing.

Given all that the first responders/police/ military are dealing with on this Coronavirus event one would think it would be great PR and support to have these units circulating the system.

The vast majority of first responders don't really give much of a crap about some unrelated items getting repainted to 'honor' them.  They'd much, much prefer that people follow the health and safety guidelines, cooperate when they are just trying to do their jobs, don't hoard medical supplies and medicines, stay calm, patient, and polite, change the batteries in your smoke and CO detectors, and remain the heck home when there are Stay At Home orders.

I have to agree with Baltimore. Yes first responders, I myself am one, don't do it for the fame or glory but it is nice to see a company like CSX do something for us. I had a bitter taste in my mouth from CSX since being furloughed from them and not being called back but this certainly does make them look good. They invited my department and several other local agency's onto the property for a photoshoot. They placed the engines where we could get our units around them for several hours and let us have free range with them. Photos by Tim Wilson.

Out of curiosity, what was the other three that were planned? Rumors are fine for me. I need a distraction from the virus

It was not the idea of the boss who ordered them stored or he does not like the guy who had them painted

Atleast for now we still have NS for Heritage and Honoring our First Responders and Military personnel.

people CHOOSE to super size combo meals.  

very few people chose to get infected with covid-19 AND the immanent ECONOMIC DISASTER..............

There is also Amtrak, Canadian Pacific & Union Pacific all honoring railroad heritage and military personnel/veterans as well as Metra & NJ Transit also commemorating their railroad heritages.

People make that choice. Comparisions like this are stupied.
Getting infected with the virus isn't a choice.
