Touring both sides the Delaware river

I took advantage of the nice weather and took a bike tour up the west bank of the Delaware river from Philly to Holmesburg Jct., then across the Tacony-Palmyra bridge to the New Jersey side down back through Pennsauken and Camden, and here are the trains I saw...

1 - Abandonded ferry slips at Tioga
2 - RBMN boxcars at the Tioga Marine terminal
3 - NJT Atlantic City train coming off the DelAir bridge to Philly

Continuing....
4 - another of NJT 
5 - Amtrak regional  southbound at Tacony station
6 - Luckily a northbound followed soon after

7 - Northbound screams through Tacony station
8- No train - but nice bridge on the NEC over Pennypack Creek at Holmesburg Jct.
9 - old PRR branch along the Delaware waterfront now a rec trail

10 - heritage painted hoppers in the NJT River Line facility in Pennsauken
11 - NJT River Line Rte. 73 station
12 - NJT train bound for Atlantic City on the massive DelAir lift bridge

NJT River Line trains meet in Camden, and views from the bridge of the battleship U.S.S. New Jersey and S.S. United States

Wow, quite the tour. Interesting to see the U.S.S. New Jersey and S.S. United States in the same photo, lots of history there.

Great Post !  Agree with TCnr on the USS New Jersey and SS United States shot. Wow !  Also like your coverage of the PATCO Trains on the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Great photos! The greater Philadelphia area offers so many opportunities for railfanning. In all of the years I have lived in NJ, I don't get to railfan Patco very much or even the NJT ACRL. I live much closer to NYC.

1.  Do u have and roster shots of the SNJX ballast hopper cars?   Need to model these.  They look like AC-2 and PS-2 covered hoppers with roofs removed.

2.  The abandoned ROW look like the old PRR Philadelphia and Tacony line.  Lots of local freight traffic on it back in the day.  When all the factories and chemical plants along the river closed down...it became a big toxic waste dump.   Has the area ever really been cleaned up?  IDK

The red boat at the dock, when I was driving the piles for mooring the USS New Jersey, there was a yellow box cab switcher that ran around that dock where the red vessel is moored.  I could never get a good shot because it was always hidden just enough.

Soory - I don't have better shots of the SNJX cars - they were behind a fence and too far away for a good shot.
