pic 4 NS H47 headed to topton , PA to drop off 2 covered Hoppers for the Allentown & Auburn. then they head back to Temple to go onto the Evansville Ind Branch to take emptu Covered Hoppers to the Cement plant at Evansville  and then Work the Scrap Metal yards at Temple.

The Amish certainly have some beautiful horses. I used to work with an Amish machine supervisor who raised and sold horses. Other than some young Amish boys that drink and drive, are there examples of Amish hit by trains? I don't recall any in this neck of the woods.

In my 45 years along the Reading line I don’t recall any Mennonite accidents involving trains.

There have been several farming accidents though that have killed. One of the most tragic was a toddler who was tangled up in machinery that one of his older brothers had accidentally started while playing on it. Truly tragic.

I do wonder how none of them have been hit by cars on their bicycles riding home at midnight though.

That surprises me too, on a Saturday night there’s hundreds of them peddling home from their social gathering.

Their buggies are becoming more progressive, with some illuminated with LED ground effects now. Hard as heck to hit something that looks like a UFO cruising down a backroad!!
