Edited to add: And NS could purchase full ownership in the Pan Am Southern line although I have my doubts current management could think that strategically. Posted from iPhone Edited 1 time(s). Do regulators and/or public officials in New England really want Genesee & Wyoming to control that much more of the region's rail service? Where'd "Guilford" come from, anyway? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/29/20 17:42 by MC6853. Date: 06/29/20 18:01 Re: Pan Am Railways up for Sale Author: Shortline614 MC6853 Wrote:

Date: 06/30/20 03:13 Re: Pan Am Railways up for Sale Author: JPB Forget who buys the Pan Am routes (But I'll bet $2 on NS buying PAS (ie, Ayer and west) and G&W buying PAR (ie, Worcester and northeast))!
Who gets Pan Am's excellent OCS equipment? ;-) Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/30/20 03:19 by JPB. Date: 06/30/20 04:15 Re: Pan Am Railways up for Sale Author: GPutz NS will Immediately sell it. Does G&W have something similar? Gerry

Norfolk Southern and Pan Am jointly own an LLC operating company which brands itself Pan Am Southern. The Boston & Maine, and Springfield Terminal also have interests in the deal. Good point - first order of business is to remove the “rubble” Pan Am leaves behind! Posted from iPhone Date: 06/30/20 09:06 Re: Pan Am Railways up for Sale Author: Off-pending > -----
> Who gets Pan Am's excellent OCS equipment? ;-) A set of F units painted up in Norfolk Southern scheme would look classy pulling the NS business train. Oh, nevermind. Date: 06/30/20 11:18 Re: Pan Am Railways up for Sale Author: SantaFeRuss Split Pan Am between Norfolk Southern and Canadian Pacific or Candian National and Norfolk Southern.
SantaFeRuss Date: 06/30/20 12:19 Re: Pan Am Railways up for Sale Author: BarstowRiff Norfolk Southern already owns half of the westend (West of Ayer) through the PanAm Southern.
