Reading & Northern at Days End
Author: PC1073

As the day rapidly draws to a close, Reading & Northern train NRFF rolls along, crossing the new bridge
in the Lehigh Gorge State Park.  The effort to get to this spot was well worth it.

That photo could be the cover of a book about the Reading and Northern!!

In many ways, this bridge and curve remind of SP's Cantara Loop curve--bridge, tight curve, and some grade involved.  Does anyone know how tight this curve is?

Good as that looks now, wait until mid-October. If you're able to catch something there again with color in those trees, it would be spectacular.

Congrats on IOTD. Well done.   I hope you send a copy to R&N.  Hey, maybe a 425 cab ride.    Perhaps a touch of Sahara dust pink in the sky?

How about that shot with 2102?

Beautiful photo.  And nice to see a healthy railroad that wants to haul freight and serve their customers....unike the Class 1's that just want to satisfy the Hedge Fund clowns....

Exactly right. I was immediately struck by the painterly effect, and even wondered if it was a photograph. Wonderful use of light, color, shadow and composition. A very special image, and a well-deserved Image of the Day.
