Here is a side view of the BIP 378 and then the new BIP 478 as their 4th unit at Parkersburg W Va Tom Boylan Date: 08/02/20 13:44 Re: New BIP Shortline Switching at Parkersburg W Va Author: refarkas Great set from a new railroad.

Date: 08/02/20 14:47 Re: New BIP Shortline Switching at Parkersburg W Va Author: Milwaukee I have not researched the heritage of these units but the 178 looks to be originally a high nose unit set up for long hood forward (bell on the long hood end) and the 478 was originally a dual control locomotive (originally Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines maybe?) as it has the front of the cab extending forward beyond the normal line. It's always nice to see the power painted so sharp when a new line launches. Hopefully the rest of their operation is as well funded as their power investment and they have plenty of sharp and energetic employees to get off to a great start.

Thanks, Go Date: 08/02/20 18:02 Re: New BIP Shortline Switching at Parkersburg W Va Author: Shortline614 That's a really nice looking scheme. I wish them the best of luck.

Fascinating number scheme. Wonder why x78? what's the story behind 78? Always love shortline numbering. Date: 08/02/20 19:22 Re: New BIP Shortline Switching at Parkersburg W Va Author: wabash2800 Yeah, that paint scheme is not bad. But I'd put a logo on the front of the nose...
Edit: I see that woudn't work with the 278 with the headlight on the nose. But, again, not a bad paint schme. Victor A. Baird http;//www.erstwhilepublications.com Edited 1 time(s). PRSL's GP38's (not Dash-2's) were as plain jane as you could get aside from the dual control stand. Also, no dynamic brake.
Date: 08/03/20 07:54 Re: New BIP Shortline Switching at Parkersburg W Va Author: Kemacprr Penn Central did have GP-38-2's with dual control and dynamic brakes. 8154-8162. Ordered when Moore was CEO and he was ex Southern. ---- Ken

Anyone else think the same? Was it a Canadian Road? Did the BA&P ever have colors like that?
