Gateway Arch

Is it safe and is it open? Google shows a nice park across the river with tracks in the foreground to view the St. Louis Arch. I know this area has a reputation so just wondering, Also what's the chance of seeing a train go by? Thanks.

Actually I meant the Gateway Geyser which is on the other side of the river.

The Arch grounds and Malcolm W. Martin Memorial Park (Gateway Geyser and observation deck) are open.  The trams to the top of the Arch are closed long-term.

I was there about a year ago. Neat little park. Stay on the main road between the park and the casino and you should have any issues.

Not much activity in that area, both people wise or train wise. Should be fine staying right in the little park.

why do you have to "stay" on the main road or in the little park?
