Class 1 Autoracks / Wells / TOFC Metrics
Author: NSSpike

The two charts below indicate the past 8 week metrics CSX & NS for:
MOTOR VEHICLES    CONTAINER & TRAILERS

Also included WEEK 31 BNSF & UP Metrics for the same categories.

Thanks for stopping by and always be safe when out track side!!!

WOW, I never realized the dispartity in container loads between NS and CSX. That's huge.

CSX on containers and intermodal is consistent with their philsophy: stay off our railroad.  We are not interested in your business (especially anything less than 600? miles.  They have closed numerous facilities and declined short haul buiness.

Phil; thanks for posting these interesting stats!

On a related note; my youngest son and I returned yesterday from a weeklong trip to PA to visit family. While up there, we had some time to chase trains on NS’ Pittsburgh Line. It was amazing to see how many trailers are still moving on NS intermodal trains despite their announcement a few years back they intended to phase out this part of their intermodal service offering. Some trains we saw were probably close to 90% trailers.
