Busy, busy, busy
Author: NKPSOUTHERN

Seems like the Lake Division New Castle Distric is busy despite the lack of traffic eleswhere.  I caught these three trains in Bluffton, IN.  all within an hour or so of each other.  Both intermodals were full where in the past I've seen them on this distric with more empty cars than loaded.  Hopefully that is a good sign.

Thanks for the train numbers.  I no longer have a scanner nor do I use any of the sites that give train info in real time. If thats a thing.  I just kinda fish for them. Also having a signal close by helps a little.

Thanks for sharing. It's been a few years since I've been to Bluffton, but what's with the small yard I don't recall? I do recall a shortline interchanging there. Is the small foundry still there?

Thats the interchange yard between NS and the Wabash Centeral.  It was part of the old Clover Leaf (Nickel Plate) Railroad. As for the foundry you mentioned, Almco Steel has a building on North Oak St. extended right along the NS main, but I'm not sure if they have a foundry or not.

Thanks for the information. I recall interchange tracks but not that much of a yard. There was a foundry there. I recall when I was photographing it, a big fat guy came out driving a Caddy, watching me taking pictures with a dirty look on his face. <G> He apparently didn't like me takiing pictures of the foundry.
