Cassandra is definitely a nice spot to relax and watch trains...There are not many spots on the West Slope where you can watch trains without having to sit in direct sunlight...Dave W.

Could someone explain what an “airless” sprayer is?  It did a nice job!

No air compressor needed, the electric pump develops high pressure to force the paint to the gun to spray the paint....Dave W.

Agree with comments - - great location.  Have made multiple trips per year for 20 + years, usually staying at John's place.
Highly recommend if you've never been there, put it on your list.

Its pretty much volunteer work....John has family in town that mows with a riding tractor....Railfans came in recently and cut down brush and small trees.....I recently weedwacked the enbankment by the picnic area....and railfan Jacob Leukhardt is reviving the All Nighters and secured donations to pay for the painting project....Dave W.
